What it means
Total addressable market (TAM) is the full revenue opportunity for your product if you won every account that could buy it. For B2B teams it is most useful counted bottom-up: the number of accounts that fit your ICP, multiplied by what one closed deal is worth per year.
Two narrower numbers often sit beside it. Serviceable addressable market (SAM) is the part your offer and channels can reach today. Serviceable obtainable market (SOM) is the share you can realistically win in the next few years.
How we use it
We size TAM before a campaign is built, so every concept comes with the volume attached. You can usually answer it from two numbers you already have: how many accounts fit your ICP, and what one closed deal is worth. We have sat with companies past $100M in revenue who could not tell us their own TAM.
Our TAM Sizing skill sizes every campaign concept in the mix. The Market Sizing Preview shows how many reachable prospects a sector holds before you spend a credit finding out.
