01What This Is
A Claude Skill file trained on our positive LinkedIn DM replies from 4,890+ outbound conversations.
Drop it into a Claude Project and start writing LinkedIn DMs shaped by real reply data, not generic templates.
02How to Set It Up
Step 1: Create a Claude Project
Go to claude.ai → Click Projects → Click Create Project
Name it something like: LinkedIn Outreach
Step 2: Add the Skill File
Inside your project, go to Project Knowledge → Upload the skill file from above
That's it. Claude now has the full skill loaded.
Step 3: Start Writing
Open a new chat inside the project and tell Claude:
- What situation you're in (post engagement, lead magnet delivery, cold research, etc.)
- Who you're reaching out to (title, company, industry)
- What triggered the outreach (which post they engaged with, what signal you found)
Claude will use the skill to write DMs that match the patterns that actually drove replies.
03Example Prompts You Can Use
Post-Engagement DM:
"Write a connection request note and first DM for someone who liked a post about AI agents in sales. They're a Head of Revenue at a SaaS company."
Lead Magnet Delivery:
"Write a DM delivering our Clay Workflows lead magnet to someone who commented 'CLAY' on our LinkedIn post. Include a soft follow-up for 3 days later."
Cold Research DM Sequence:
"Write a 3-step LinkedIn DM sequence for a founder of a B2B agency. We found they just raised a seed round. Use the GTM Roadmap framework from the skill."
Profile View Trigger:
"Someone viewed my profile. They're a VP of Sales at an enterprise company. Write a connection request note for this trigger."
Reviewing Existing Copy:
"Here's our current LinkedIn DM sequence. Review it against the skill file and tell me what to fix."

| C: Profile View Trigger | They viewed your profile | 1 |

| E: Event Networking | You're attending the same event | 1-2 |
| F: Connection Opener | They accepted your connection or followed you | 1 |
| G: Free Offer | You want to offer a free audit or resource | 1-2 |
05Key Rules to Remember
Post-engagement is your #1 play. 63% of all positive replies came from it.
Keep DM 1 under 80 words. LinkedIn is not email.
Max 3 DMs without a reply, then stop. Messages stack visibly in the chat thread.
Never pitch in the connection note. Its only job is to get accepted.
Every DM needs a trigger. "Why am I messaging YOU, right now?" If you can't answer that, don't send it.
06Pair It With the Cold Email Skill
The LinkedIn DM Skill works best alongside the Cold Email Patterns Skill.
Use LinkedIn for: post engagement, profile views, lead magnet delivery, event networking, relationship building.
Use Email for: company research pitches, free pilot offers, GTM roadmap sequences, recruiting.
The best outbound systems use both channels in coordination. LinkedIn builds the relationship. Email delivers the pitch.
