Smartlead: what it is and how we use it

Smartlead is cold email infrastructure for running many mailboxes at once. It was our own sender before we moved to EmailBison, and it still sends in some of the systems we build.

What Smartlead is

Smartlead is a cold email platform: unlimited mailboxes and lead storage, automatic DNS setup, warm-up and sender rotation, with AI agents for prospecting and follow-up.

It is priced by sending volume rather than by seat or mailbox, which suits teams that spread sending across many inboxes.

How we use it

Smartlead was our own sending platform before we moved to EmailBison, and it is still the sender in some client systems. Our email deliverability checklist is the operating procedure we ran on it: mailboxes assigned per client, two warm-up presets, rotation groups set by tag, and a weekly check that pulls any inbox whose reputation drops.

The emails behind our signals analysis were sent through Smartlead.

For StryvRevenue we ran a two-path flow: Smartlead sent to every contact with a valid email, and Kixie called the ones without one. Our mailbox setup can also export new inboxes straight into Smartlead.
