The instinct when moving a long piece to another platform is to make it a thread. A single long post holds the argument together and the thread does not.
A thread asks the reader to keep choosing to continue, and most of them stop around the third item. An argument that was built to unfold loses its ending, which was the point.
A single long post is read as one thing, the way the original was. It performs differently and it preserves the structure that made the source worth converting.
Converting between platforms tends to sand off the concrete details: a named tool becomes a category, a number becomes several, an example becomes a general case. The result reads as competent and says nothing.
The specifics are what made the original work, so they are carried across deliberately rather than paraphrased.
The original is retrieved with its full text and its graphic. Rewriting from memory produces a post about the same topic that has quietly lost the argument, and the graphic no longer matches what the words say.
Skills compound. These are the ones we usually install alongside it.
