An episode is a day of work that produces one asset unless somebody spends another day turning it into ten, which is why most podcasts produce one.
Most people who encounter a podcast episode never listen to it. They see a clip. The clip selection is therefore the distribution strategy rather than a promotional afterthought, and picking the moments that stand alone without context is a genuine skill.
The best delivery in the episode is frequently not the best clip, because it depends on twenty minutes of setup. The clip that works is the one that makes sense cold.
A guest who reposts an episode puts it in front of their audience, which is usually larger than the effort you would otherwise spend on promotion. That ask lands best immediately after publication with the assets attached, which means it has to be drafted at the same time as everything else or it does not get sent.
Nothing publishes and nothing sends. The pack is produced for a human to review, post and message.
Skills compound. These are the ones we usually install alongside it.
